Welcome to /Workbench/, the webring's hub for discussion of DIY hobbies involving making your own robots and artwork. Rules 1. Follow the global rules; do not post illegal content. 2. Do not post pornography, lewd, or semi-lewd imagery of any form. If it's intention is to arouse, it will be deleted. 3. Put effort into your posts. Low-quality threads and posts (including bait, off-topic, flaming, or nonsense/schizoposting, etc.) will be deleted. 4. One-liner questions that don't need their own thread go in QTDDTOT. If your thread was deleted, there is a good chance it was moved here instead. 5. Be kind to your fellow anons.

Remocon.tv for the remote control of robots Anonymous 11/25/2023 (Sat) 21:32:45 No.47 [Reply]
Remocon.tv is a site that lets you control robots over the internet. You can also connect your robots to control them from wherever you want, or let others control them over the internet. On top of using it that way you can also charge others to control your robots and use it as a way to make money from your robots. Check it out, the site is remocon.tv Documentation is here and it's pretty straightforward: https://remocon.neocities.org They also have a discord server where people are happy to help set things up, it is linked on the site.
This is an example robot page for the site: https://remocon.tv/d/61edc8c76964200018990642 It is used for testing new robots. If you have a single board computer, be it a raspberry pi or another one, and it has a camera attached, you can stream to the above robot page with one line in the terminal: ffmpeg -f v4l2 -framerate 25 -video_size 640x480 -i /dev/video0 -f mpegts -codec:v mpeg1video -s 640x480 -b:v 1000k -bf 0 https://stream.remocon.tv/o0s75fhfuwor5nrolpdalt47 That one line will stream video from your robot, or single board computer, to the website. To stream to your own robot page you only need to change the API key that's in the above command, to the API key that is generated for you for your robot. Setting up controls isn't that much more complicated.

Hi robot !
9 posts and 3 images omitted.
What's going on with this board?
>>37 Nothing, I fear. Come on BO, you got a nice board topic here. You ca do it ! Sadly, the cafe is not a place with lot of users, but if you build a nice board it may attract some nice folks.
>>38 >Nothing, I fear. That's what I was afraid of. It doesn't seem like the BO's been coming around. I like to see board on here succeed. >Sadly, the cafe is not a place with lot of users, but if you build a nice board it may attract some nice folks. Yeah, and there's not anything wrong with having a board that's a bit slow either.
>>39 >not anything wrong with having a board that's a bit slow either. Wasn't a complaint, I myself prefer slower boards. But even a slow board my be more interesting with a little bit more users to add some diveristy.
>>40 I agree 100%. Maybe I worded that wrong.

While I'm setting up the board, I am also leaving a thread for submissions of anon generated banners. They just need to be 300x100 and have some effort put into them to fit the theme.

What do you think about automation when it comes to task that needs to interact with humans ? Honestly I'm ok with the robots doing factory work but it would piss me off to iteract with a robot when I need to see a doctor. Here's a Chinese woman destroy a robot because she need to talk to a real person regarding her medical care in a hospital.
that poor innocent robot
when my computer doesnt work right i watch videos of robots getting beat up and i feel better
The tech isn't there yet, but also they should call a human if people ask for it or show signs of stress about the conversation
