Zelda and Zelda-esque gaems Anonymous 11/19/2021 (Fri) 19:33:35 No.1459
Not at all a thinly veiled excuse to post Midna's ass I just can't stop playing 2D Zelda clones, that style of gameplay is probably my favorite, especially when good clones add a little bit of their own personal spice into the mix.

just gonna leave this here
>>1459 No wonder the statue makes that expression. Also: https://www.solarus-games.org/
>>1461 I was talking more about professional games. But are any of those actually any good?
>>1462 I've played some Mystery of Solarus DX and was pretty impressed. Definitely not bad by fan game standards.

>>1464 Hmm, I'm not really into mods of existing games. Pic related looks kinda cool tho, gives me more Story of Thor vibes, maybe gonna check it out. So what is your favorite Zeruda game anon?
>>1465 I enjoyed BoTW at launch, got me interested in the series (outside of general familiarity and keeping tabs on the ARG). Since played TP and WW. BoTW felt the most magical in that 'I can do anything' sort of way, although WW came pretty close. The sense of exploration is my favorite aspect so far, I also like clearing dungeons and going through all the rooms. I'll probably try SS next out of morbid curiosity.

>>1471 I like the Link's Awakening overworld in how efficiently it utilized space. It's nice and compact without feeling like it's too small.

>>1473 Well put. Link's Awakening is underappreciated in general. Due to its tighter nature it uses a lot of Link to The Past's mechanics more creatively.
>>1475 It's easily my favorite post-NES Zelda game. The Koholint Island setting felt mysterious and oddly melancholic but without taking itself too seriously. I guess that could be due to the Twin Peaks influence.

>>1483 Yeah the atmosphere was mega comfy and the bitter-sweet feel to the story and ending felt way more emotional than the standard defeat Ganon fare.

>>1459 >2D Zelda clones Any in particular you'd recommend?

>>1497 Of course. This year I played The Story of Thor, Gunman's Proof, Tōgi Ō: King Colossus, Shin Souseiki Ragnacenty and Grand Master. All of which I really enjoyed.
