WebRing Invitation Kev 05/22/2021 (Sat) 13:05:25 No.14797
Hello Gentlemen, 4kev.org here. Thanks for the invitation. How can I join the WebRing?
Notice, welcome aboard
>>14797 I tried reading /programming/, but my eyes were hurting after about 5 minutes of looking at that CSS. If you add a global 'Pick CSS' type of thing (common on the webring BTW) I might reconsider. Anyway, seems like a laid back site.
>>14797 Use one of these plugins, depending on the version of your imageboard software https://gitlab.com/Tenicu/infinityaddon-webring https://gitlab.com/alogware/LynxChanAddon-Webring Then the other websites can see you and advertise your boards.
>>14797 >someone took it upon themselves to go around to every imageboard site they could find and invite them Wonder what the admins of the existing webring sites think of this?
>>14803 I think it's a much more commendable endeavor than fucking using facebook ads
>Wonder what the admins of the existing webring sites think of this? I'd love seeing them commit suicide over it.
>>14803 How do you think half the imageboards of the webring came here? Do you think their admins randomly stumbled upon low PPH boards and decided that yes, this was the best way to get their IB known?
>>14806 If you mean the boards (not the sites, a common mistake), then most of us explicitly found our way by a direct search after the US fedflag gayop to destroy 8ch occurred. within two months, >90% of the current webring boards were already in place. When Robi decided he didn't want to become the next 8ch, and Kikefat then swooped in with his FBI-backers there was a shake-up of sorts. But the boards just shuffled around a bit. It was word-of-mouth on the boards and their communities that led to the webring forming, not shilling.
>>14810 >communities Lmfao

>>14803 Why would it be a problem? The webring isn't some secret club where only ex 8chan pros are allowed. If someone wants to join then let them, if they don't then that's their decision.

>>14802 4kev.org doesn't use LynxChan or Infinity. The code is unique. Does that mean that it can't join the webring?
>>14824 It can, but owner will have to write his own plugin/addon for it.
Open file (40.52 KB 550x366 bob.jpg)
>>14824 1. Provide a "webring.json" file somewhere in your website. This file should update automatically every 1-30 minutes with info about your boards, see https://smuglo.li/webring.json for an example of how it's structured. 2. Set up a script that loads the other webring member's webring.json files every 1-30 minutes or so, and then show their boards in your imageboard. 3. Tell the other webring members to add your webring.json URL to their list, they will then start periodically reading your webring.json to get your board info. Some members are more picky about who they include, but some will welcome everyone. Anyone can join the webring regardless of software as long as they can do this.

>ib with logins >site wide post numbers >not really usable with nojs >torposting? I think there is way too many boards, but it's ok.

>>14843 Actually, it's (((MitMflare))) that's the much bigger issue here. Even if 314 themselves aren't some sort of gayop, their choice of 'protection' basically guarantees their eventual destruction. >
>>14843 >>14844 Sorry anon, I spotted 314 on the webring selector and just presumed it was the one you meant. The cuckflare issue still stands for any site foolish enough to use them after all they've done to attack free speech in current year.
Is there any info who is behind it? No schizo asspull theories please.
>>14845 Cloudflare is a necessary evil, I'm afraid. Smug had to go through with them during a DDOS attack.
>>14847 No its not, there are other services.
>>14849 >there are better services >doesn't list any
>>14854 Read again
>>14854 >use cloudflare MITM goy If you insist to completely compromise the security of your website, there are many options and some of them are also free, just like cloudflare. Sucuri Imperva AWS guard duty Bitmitigate Vanwanet Cloudlayer Ddos-guard Netlify ...and many more, including offerings by common VDS/VPS hosting, possibly the same you already host your servers with. Cloudflare is not the best, the cheapest, or as other anons have pointed out, necessary at all in almost all cases.
>>14856 >vanwanet >bitmitigate >ddos guard you mean the sameservices that dropped 8chan and blacked, gov at the first report?
>>14857 >dropped 8chan and blacked, gov Not him, but really? Well, sometimes a higher principle is involved in questions of ethics. Anyone that refuses them is in reality performing a very obvious service to humanity instead. '_'7
>>14856 >muh MITM Any webdev with two brain cells can (and should) work around it a la YP. The two serious issues with cloudflare are incompetence and cost-cutting, as expected of any cheap service, rather than actual malice. Hosting onion-only is sufficient for most boards in the webring, but that scares off a certain strain of election tourists so...
>>14862 >The two serious issues with cloudflare are incompetence and cost-cutting No, those are two secondary issues with cuckflare. The primary issue is they are beholden golems to their ZOG masters.

>>14871 >MITMfag is a schizoposter what a surprise, here's your meds
>>14857 bitmitigate lost their upstream of voxility for hosting 8chan (voxility german company lol) vanwanet lost their upstream of ddos-guard because of legal request from ROSKOMNADZOR vanwanet, like bitmitigate, made new agreements with different providers. both still exist and vanwanet even hosts 8kun to this day. 8chan was kicked off by cloudflare not because of the decisions of others, but by their own. So this does not rebut the original point of cloudflare being the "best", and is a bad argument in itself because other providers no longer have to follow russian law. >>14873 When you send make any request to view a page, make a post, login with your username/password, or any other communication to a site using cloudflare, cloudflare can see all of that information. This is the definition of a "man in the middle attack" because you expect the encryption to be between yourself and 8chan.moe, which is not the case. This is an incontrovertible fact. Whether you consider others schizophrenic for recognising the problem with that is irrelevant.
>>14876 >Cloudflare MITMs! >yes because they're incompetent, you can work around it at least >they're not incompetent, they're golems to the ZOG!! >lol schizo >but cloudflare MITMs, so I'm not a schizo!!! Great contributions to the thread, anon. >inb4 I'm not the same guy I know, it doesn't matter: you butted into a conversation without reading anything but the last post, and that makes you a retard.
>>14877 > and that makes you a retard. Do you think your diversity-tier-quality ad hominem in any way refutes the basic facts related to the foolishness of using Cloudflare friend? Why are you trying shill such an obviously evil controlled corporate asset so hard?
Open file (151.02 KB 1334x1334 pimp my reich.jpg)
>>14878 >tell anon that cloudflare is incompetent >ZOMG WHY ARE YOU SHILLING SUCH AN EVIL CORPO Once again, take your meds.
>>14862 Are you claiming the admin of Smug doesn't have two braincells?

>>14880 >Are you claiming the admin of Smug doesn't have two braincells? Good question, I think he is.
>>14898 He isn't have two braincells?
>>14899 He is claiming that the admin of Smug doesn't have two braincells.
>>14900 Yeah he probably has more.
>>14901 No, no that's not how I understand it. The implication was that someone who can't prevent cloudflare from looking at user traffic but still uses it has less. So he's saying the admin of Smug must have less than two braincells.
>>14902 If this is the case, then I do not agree with his statement, because a person can not have less than two braincells while he is alive. So it must mean that the admin of Smug has in fact passed away, which would of course render him unable to discharge his Smug admin duties, therefore he is no longer the admin of Smug and also not the person who the statement is referring to, simply because: If somebody is dead, they can not be the administrator of a website, because a website administered by a dead person is not administered at all. So I guess what he means is that Smug does not actually have an administrator? I do not believe that this is the case.
>>14903 So you conclude that anon is a liar?
>>14904 If Anon continues to tell lies then he will become a liar, because telling lies is the attribute of a liar.
>>14880 >smug doesn't have an onion Take a guess
