Community Announcements Anonymous Board owner 05/21/2020 (Thu) 16:31:32 No.13261
Sometimes boards do things and think that it would be nice for other boards to know about it. Every week - assuming there are events - we'll post upcoming events in the global announcement slot as smaller community announcements. If you'd like your event to be added to the rotation, post here with your: >Board >Event name >Event thread >Event date and time (please provide time in UTC at minimum plus whatever other timezones you'd like included) Board owners may suppress community announcements without also hiding all global announcements if they desire by using custom CSS to hide class "community-announcements-board-owners-feel-free-to-hide-this". I've taken the liberty of making /otter/'s Ottercine otter movie night the first event we announce. Good job, /otter/.
Lovely idea.
>>13261 Great idea Admin.
>>13261 Thanks for this, Owner duderino. We're working to make /icup/ a great event, I hope things will work out.

Just wanted to mention a new board /valis/ is now open. It's a general place about entertainment systems using video or rich visual mechanisms as feedback :^) although discussion can also range to saloon activities like cue games and card shuffling due to their social and classic nature in the ludic activities of people around the world. Having or remembering fun and sharing tips and tricks sounds like the goal, come visit sometime

Shot an email explaining it a bit better, but may I host a cross-webring Christmas event on anon.cafe? I feel like Christmas is the time when anons are the most lonely and I wanna do something like the Julay radio event from a while back to help cheer them up and remind them that the webring is a community and not a scattering of islands. I want to combine it with an actual "meetup" event though by having a game server hooked into it. I have pre-approval from the /vg/ Veloren server host, but that should be more of a last resort given Veloren's an early development FOSS game. Also due to the request of a different anon, can I invite Meguca if this is allowed?
Additional non-webring boards have also been mentioned like inviting /fascist/ and possibly /v/ (there were mixed reactions to mentioning Mark/v/ and given their history it's understandable if that's a no-go). I figured if the general idea of the event is alright, I could privately send a list of non-webring boards for individual approval or denial so as not to put you on the spot in-thread.
>>15245 >>15246 That sounds nice. We can't provide any more server resources to host a game server, unfortunately, but it sounds like you're already working options from elsewhere. As for which non-webring boards to invite if any, we'll leave that up to your judgement as the event's organizer and recipient of opinions from the anons who want the event in the first place. Once you have things worked out, please feel free to post the event's details here and we'll put it in the global event announcements.

>>15248 >but it sounds like you're already working options from elsewhere. Ideally I would like for community involvement, hopefully with another website providing the geimu since that would be a nice form of advertisement for them and then I wouldn't have to multitask moderating both the thread and the game server. If not though there's solutions worked out so it's all good. >As for which non-webring boards to invite if any, we'll leave that up to your judgement Appreciated. I'll try my hardest not to make a mess of things. Had to explain to anon last night why we need to maintain synergy since some sites don't get along. >Once you have things worked out, please feel free to post the event's details here and we'll put it in the global event announcements. Will do. For now, it'll be a Christmas Concert on December 18th starting around 9PM(ish) GMT/UTC. I should have a guest list and details worked out by December 5th. For archival purposes, here's the final draft of the email I sent out to webring admins: https://pastebin.com/gpNZ9dcx Polite sage since I don't think there's anything that's super critical in this post.
/japan/ sokunigger tournament 9 followed by gaki special https://zzzchan.xyz/japan/thread/8803.html dec 18th 4pm edt
/christmas/ event is still on for the 18th if you want to link anons to the board. Will take place from roughly 5PM Saturday GMT to 5AM Sunday GMT, possibly a little later. That's 9AM Saturday to 9PM American West Coast or 2AM Sunday to 2PM Japan time. I have some emergency communications to make with a few anons tonight, then I'll spend tomorrow getting everything ready on my end, so that the following day I can focus on invitations in preparation for Saturday.
Doing a stream of the christmas specials at https://youtu.be/kcyBZwTm-zg[Embed] at 7 CDT also going to be on https://cytu.be/r/guntstream for a bit plus an exclusive TOO HOT FOR YOUTUBE video afterwards.

>/k/ run by tranny jannies >/christian/ run by a protestant who hates Christians I want to post here, but what am I supposed to defend here when you won't even let me run an alternative board? Can I have a /freedom/ board already? I'll run it right if you'll allow it, otherwise I'll have to go my separate ways. This is getting old.
>>16306 But you're not a /freedom/fag in the first place. The real move to do something about /k/ is just to raid tengu's other sites

I have been in and out for a while, since i only ever infrequently visit smug/a/, can I get a rundown over why Mark was kicked off and his site is separated?I remember him trying to monetize gondola like a filthy kike. I know /fascist/ and /pol/ are off because too hot to handle so like only 40-60% of 8chan is left.
>>16344 I think there was something involving him wanting his site on the webring while not advertising the other webring sites over there.
>>16345 >one way relationship So this cocksucking move was the straw that broke the camel's back, not all of the other kikery? On another topic, is there any opposition to having a board like /fascist/ in the webring on it's own site?
>>16346 >So this cocksucking move was the straw that broke the camel's back, not all of the other kikery? It's literally the only thing that mattered to them. The subhumans running the other boards are just as pathetic a group of attentionwhores as mark and couldn't stand the thought of not being in their imagined limelight. zzz and smug literally log user info and ban e.g. tor and brag about it pretty sure they've still got localhost banned on 80% of boards
>>16344 I think Mark hosted a /hebe/ board or something and everyone dropped him because of that. A few kept him listed until some other minor slight happened and they used that as the excuse in order to avoid looking like hypocrites. >>16349 >>16346 That's not how that conversation went at all when it happened and it's a gross twisting of events to fit a narrative.
>>16351 >I think Mark hosted Mark isn't an admin. He's just the BO and mascot of /v/
>>16352 That’s right. The admin and main tech were and are Acidman and Codex, respectively. Mark wasn’t involved, except perhaps as a distraction.
Why are you Anons even debating the finer points of 3 evildoers, or somehow making light of Kikefat's bullshit simply because the others are even worse demons? >tl;dr That site is a literal glownigger, literal kike, literal honeypot gayop. Steer clear of it, now and forever.
>>16354 >That site is a literal glownigger, literal kike, literal honeypot gayop So, the same as zzz and smug? What's your point?
>>16354 So is alog, tvchan, zzz, and sportschan. Do you have something important to add to the conversation? >>16355 Nah, the smuggers have a pole so far up their ass they'd just slam the door in the feds face and then wonder why they're in prison later.
>>16358 >Nah, the smuggers have a pole so far up their ass they'd just slam the door in the feds face and then wonder why they're in prison later. For how utterly retarded the entire userbase and board administration was, the actual site admin of smug was a reasonable man who actually cared about privacy and prioritized e.g. getting the onion back up over the clearnet address when the site went down. He literally said that he'd prefer to go tor-only if the spam at that time continued to cause problems. He disappeared for like a year and after he came back localhost was banned on like every board, so probably the real smugmin is actually in jail somewhere.
