Of course the reality is not lost on me. But I say this, no matter what you have done it can be forgiven. Salvation is not a gamble, if you have not received the holy Spirit you are not really saved. Christ can forgive all our sins. No one is good enough for heaven. You're not good enough, I'm not good enough and I'll never be good enough. But simply saying you're not good enough and Jesus is a nice guy, that is not the Gospel, that is not the message from the Word of God. The Word of God's message is turn to Him, come to Him, trust in Him. And no matter how sinful you are it doesn't matter, you can still come to Him and be forgiven.
