Do you have any christian music recommendations? Personally I really like anything that orthodoxmemesquad posts on youtube. Also Elfen lied intro song called lilium is very beautiful.
>>5979 >orthodoxmemesquad The first 'meme' you should have gotten is to not rely on 'influencers', but on God and on your own intellect. Orthodox Russians even have a saying - 'God helps those who help themselves'. To not be a complete jerk, here's some gnostic metal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8az8y_D3tDw That is an attempt to look into the mind of soul of someone in the process of falling.
Becoming The Archetype is a pretty good Christian metal band. Kind of a rare thing to achieve since Christian metal is more consumerist and commercial than actually metal.
>>6036 I kind of like As I Lay Dying and Demonhunter. There are a few others too. Ever listen to RadioU's metal shows Anon?
>>6100 Just checked it out for the first time. I don't know whether I like it or not yet. Seems to be metalcore focused while I'm more crusty boomer metal and (ironically) crusty black metal fan. Of course when it comes to metal there's батюшка but I'm a bit tired of orthodox music.
>>6102 Cool. I lied actually, As I Lay Dying does some of my favorite songs in existence. You should check out RadioU sometimes. You might find something that crusty black metal fans might like too! :^) It's a real college station, and they take requests during live shows btw

Dunno if it was posted here, but I consider thread incomplete without this russian orthodox christian drum-n-bas dancing monk. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thZTZk09Cp4 There are other songs on the channel as well.
dont know how well this will fit in this thread but ive been listening to this guy alot recently. not all of his songs are Christian related but alot of them are and many of the ones that arent still promote good values. My favorite so far is probably "Hugs not Drugs" i have to say tho, its probably not for everyone lol. https://soundcloud.com/negativexp/tracks
I listen to this on bad days: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcO7kWA5x4Q
Blind Guardian has a couple of good ones about the life and sacrifice of Our Lord. Notable that they started the band under the name Lucifer's heritage but change it out of concern to their current name and immediately became a huge success afterwards. It is nice to occasionally see some people embrace God, and receive reward immediately. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nWLZaijTbk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6osgTR9R120
*Shadows of Jews dancing in the caverns around the fire*
>>5979 orthodox meme squad needs to cool it down with the memes, Orhtodoxy is not a meme. He uses this chant in one of his videos though. Beautiful. Psalm 33 (34) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4btMKKHM1A Fayruz has very good ones in arabic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TAJOqZ4y1M
I came across a song I liked recently which is Lesser Gods by Demon Hunter. I see some anons have previously discussed them and Christian metal in general. I have to say Demon Hunter is usually not to my tastes but they've made a few good songs. Vids related. I might share one of my all time favourite bands next.
>>10436 For some reason it didn't post one of my videos. Let's try as mp3.
Anyone know more like these? I Saw The Light https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvkfSLa1OuE Heaven's Radio https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-yvP8-u-Vc >>6509 Yeah I was curious which ones are Christian related. I dig this so much.
>>10436 >>10439 Epin. Demon Hunter and As I Lay Dying are two of my favorites. Ever listen to RadioU, Christanon?
>>10436 Virgin Black Not so much Christian metal as Christian-themed doom metal. Your mileage will vary since they have described themselves as unsure if they are Christian and discontent with the Church. One of my favourite bands full stop and I wanted to re-listen to them before recommending. Their earlier albums are >Sombre Romantic https://yewtu.be/embed/pn88fmygXuc >Elegant... and Dying https://yewtu.be/embed/qwXAUSJW5Lc Both of these are quite good but they're more like collections of songs rather than integrated albums which is what I prefer. You can listen to individual songs off these without missing too much. Of particular note is a rather beautiful portrayal of the sorry state of man in vid related. It's from Sombre Romantic which seems to be largely about the Passion so I'd say the "you" is Jesus in Gethsemane. >Heaven wept for the wounds that bled >Tears more bitter than blood >Vex your soul >I am thrown on your mercies >Yet my heart is still hardened >Weep for me, my god >Weep for me >Sooth my grief >Through my artless prayers >Your tears burden your aching soul >I held hope's hand >But let her forsake me >May I be faithful to hold onto yours The later albums form a trilogy. The first two were published in 2007 and 2008. >Requiem - Mezzo Forte https://yewtu.be/embed/rW9_zv3nJJA >Requiem - Fortissimo https://yewtu.be/embed/_xo1P-iwkFQ Requiem - Mezzo Forte must be considered their undisputed masterpiece - or least it was undisputed until their final album was released. If you want one album to try them out, it should be this one. Requiem - Fortissimo is honestly not that great. It has a far less distinctive sound and the good bits are echoes from Mezzo Forte. Definitely the black sheep of their work. The third was not published until after a ten year hiatus. I find it nicer to listen to on their bandcamp than as someones reupload. >Requiem - Pianissimo https://virginblack.bandcamp.com/album/requiem-pianissimo I can't decide whether I like Pianissimo or Mezzo Forte more. Both are extremely good. >>10451 No, I have never heard of RadioU. It appears to be an online radio station.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HCgfE9n4StI This is the single most christian song out there. The lyrics are insanely relatable. I don't fully agree with some of their other songs but they're also worth checking out.
>>6102 >crusty black metal fan What do you think of Burial by Extol? I don't really have an ear for black metal. It's never been to my liking but I am aware of these guys. I'm more of a (melodic) death and doom guy. Speaking of which, Pantokrator is another great band.
>>10440 alot of the songs on his new album are Christian related. lost and found is kinda Christian related and i dont remember the rest.
>>10734 Kyle from Gamer 1 too
>>10735 Ballad of Cowboy Joker is semi Christian related but its also just a good song
>>10736 Hallowed has alot of good music too
>>10715 It's ok but smells more like melodic death to me.
>>11004 Really? I thought it sounded like black metal because of the vocals but I guess that shows what I know about the genre.
>>11008 I don't really have christian black metal recommendations but if you like doom you should like Forgotten Tomb - Songs To Leave
I ended my enjoyment of death metal. Now life metal is my favorite genre. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObN8PU6HTbA
>>11028 I don't understand how anyone can like death metal.
>>11062 You don't need to. Music is subjective. Ever listened to this new zoomer clicking music?
>>11062 I don't understand how anyone can like alcohol. It's an acquired taste.
>>11062 some of its good. alot of its bad.
