SUPER WHOLESOME Christian anime thread Anonymous 10/30/2022 (Sun) 20:49:32 ID: dcccda No.20705
Talk about WHOLESOME shows and WHOLESOME cute waifus. This thread is NOT allowed to become a borderline /a/ exclave. Posts advocating for yuri/shota (aka homosex) and other degenerate animes are NOT allowed.
>This thread is NOT allowed to become a borderline /a/ exclave. >Posts advocating for yuri/shota (aka homosex) and other degenerate animes are NOT allowed. You know that /christian/ is actively bleeding users, most activity in this board came from trolls and Weebs.
>>20724 So what? it's a Christian board first, just because it's almost dead doesn't mean we should compromise our belief system to bring in users who don't care about Christian values. How hard is it to enjoy wholesome anime.
>>20725 >to bring in users who don't care about Christian values. As opposed to what? The same prot v. catholic schtick, just admit it there is nothing new that can be offered in terms of theology, exegesis or questions, everything is already answered if not in the threads then it can be found in the archives. >How hard is it to enjoy wholesome anime. Very hard, we literally have /cuckquean/ and /islam/ as neighbors, stop acting like this is a sinless christian site. It's crazy how you fundies self sabotage, no wonder the marginalized folk are leaving the faith. How can you sleep at night knowing that because of your bigotry we lose believers to the accursed mohammadeans.
>>20725 >wholesome anime. Oxymoron. It's all about lust. Every image is some young female "wafu" or whatever you call it. I guess there's also the femboys... >>20728 > The same prot v. catholic schtick, There are more differences between protestant religions than between many Catholic and more conservative protestant religions e.g. Anglican and Catholic, yet all the hate, bile is directed towards the catholics. Seems odd to me. I was just reading how the Methodist were splitting off a Sodomites branch. Even Novus Ordo Catholics haven't done that yet, tho Begoglio has come close.
>>20728 >As opposed to what? The same prot v. catholic schtick, just admit it there is nothing new that can be offered in terms of theology, exegesis or questions, everything is already answered if not in the threads then it can be found in the archives. What a closed minded statement, there is always lost people looking for answers who may not have heard the established answers. Prot vs catholic infighting is discouraged and usually hijacked by trolls trying to make either side look bad. >It's crazy how you fundies self sabotage, no wonder the marginalized folk are leaving the faith. Yes, Christianity (one of the largest religions in the world) is dying so we should vapidly whore ourselves out and compromise our values to the liberal youth. >How can you sleep at night knowing that because of your bigotry we lose believers to the accursed mohammadeans. lol bigotry? This is not about anime on a Christian image board. It doesn't matter if only one person believes in Christianity, what matters is that we're right.
>>20728 >Very hard, we literally have /cuckquean/ and /islam/ as neighbors, stop acting like this is a sinless christian site. i agree about the allowing smut anime but >It's crazy how you fundies self sabotage, no wonder the marginalized folk are leaving the faith. How can you sleep at night knowing that because of your bigotry we lose believers to the accursed mohammadeans. who cares about conversions or people leaving the faith? stop being obsessed with islam nerd.
The game is to see how much porn can be slipped into the Christian board. Tired of it.
>>20733 >I guess there's also the femboys :) many of the christian youth today identify as effeminates(femboys/twinks), it's not unique to anime. >>20748 >What a closed minded statement, there is always lost people looking for answers who may not have heard the established answers. Said people can be redirected into the archives, screencaps or a summary involving the aforementioned sources. >compromise our values to the liberal youth. As opposed to what some sharia-tier interpretation of OT, wake up anon! This is not the bronze age, nor the middle ages, if you don't reinterpret the text to suit the changing world, all you are doing is alienating the christian youth/converts. Reminder that : If the discussion of "Whisper Me a Love Song "shatters your faith in our Lord, you never had it in the first place.
>>20789 Effeminate men will never see heaven unless they repent and stop sinning, according to Saint Paul.
>>20781 I never had any interest in that. I just wanted to talk about nice anime with my christian bros. Unfortunately, anons decided to spam and ruin my old thread. t. created the other christian anime thread
>>20897 You don't get it, we can't have nice things here. All the people here are either uncompromising zealots and radicals or people looking to take advantage of them.
I guess I don't see how manga and anime have squat to do with Christianity. Protestants give Catholic heck just for having statutes of Jesus Christ.
>>20912 It's fine Anon. TBH you can be an outsider here and still share a love of Christ and His people along with us.
>>20897 "Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honneamise" is not a directly Christian anime, but the worldview and message it promotes is very blatantly compatible with Christianity. The main character starts out as a listless, hedonic loser; a member of his nation's space force, which is a sad joke of an organization. Until he comes across a woman passing out gospel tracts for her religion. Though it is a made up religion for a fictional universe, it becomes very apparent that said religion is effectively a "original religion, do not steal" of Christianity. The protagonist starts hanging out with her and her son more, and eventually volunteers to become the first man in space through the space program that was once a laughingstock. In the beginning, it's fairly obvious that his primary motivation is trying to get in the pants of the woman evangelist whom he fancies, as she expresses admiration for the potential of the space program. However, as he gets deeper into his training, his commitment becomes sincere, and he begins to change from his time with her as well as reading her religious literature which convicts him of the depravity of mankind and need for a savior. Things especially heats up as a neighboring rival nation begins attempting to sabotage the space program and assassinate him. Without spoiling too much, the woman's faith is truly manifested in her forgiveness of him, and he does a prayer to God near the end. The animation, aesthetics and world building were also revolutionary for their time. It came out one year before Akira, and it's quality is comparable. There are some minor questionable elements (I would probably give it a PG-13 rating,) but overall, I think it would be a good edifying watch for a Christian.
>>20936 Excellent review Anon, I'll go out of my way to watch because of. Cheers.

One-pound Gospel is an 80's OVA adaptation of a manga series written and illustrated by Rumiko Takhashi. (At the time of creation the manga wasn't finished yet) It follows the character Kōsaku who wants to become a good pro boxer, but his appetite (gluttony) holds him back. Into the picture comes the novice nun sister Angela who personally tries to help Kōsaku and set him on the right path by breaking his bad habit. While the show's main focus isn't Christianity (Catholicism specifically in this case), it is certainly an important element of the story and character development. Besides it being somewhat rare that Christianity is actually being shown, it's also done so in a positive image. Definitely a fun anime to checkout.
>>20936 >>20941 '>update I did watch it, and it's all you advertised (and more; ebin, Apollo-era space rocket tbh). This could've been an epic tale if they'd had the resources for a series. >would watch again/10
>>21020 >One-pound Gospel >protip: rm the hyphen while searching
>>21020 Watched it Anon, thanks! This animu is overtly pro-Christian. It's also a great story about a man learning to overcome his lust and exhibit moral fortitude. The nun is an actual waifu too, and we're all rooting for them together by the end. >would watch again/10
>>21037 Glad you enjoyed it, I thought there was next to nothing with positive Christianity to be found in anime. But then there are shows like this OVA that kind of flies under the radar. Maybe there's some more out there.
>>20789 >If the discussion of "Whisper Me a Love Song "shatters your faith in our Lord, you never had it in the first place >implying the problem is with our faith and not that it can entice young Christians to sin and then struggle with their faith that we warn against worldly media
>>21056 This website hosts porn and other sinful content that could make a young christian struggle in their faith.
>>21061 Do you have any suggestions in mind where we should all go instead, Mark?
>>21053 There's the children's SuperBook series from the '80s. There was also at least one other more recent OVA that escapes me atm.
Trigun isn't a Christian-themed animu, but many Christian-oriented themes come up repeatedly during the series, specifically self-sacrifice and modesty the main protagonist secretly engages in.

The visual novel/manga "Umineko no Naku Koro ni" consists almost fully of Christian and Western occult references, so you guys could find it to be interesting, although some of the more neurotic of you guys could find it to be blasphemous/satanic. It also has really good organ music tracks like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dORf0tLaSn8.
>>21869 I've been watching the Castlevania anime. It's pretty good although not devoutly Christian, are the two similar?
>>21869 07th expansion has the most retarded fanbase full of know it alls ever.
>>20705 I don't think OP pic is a wholesome Christian anime. The MC is said to be capable of defeating God and there's a lot of sexual fanservice.
>>21875 How so?
>>22460 Yeah, it's pagan. I thought this was to be deleted after the posters were given a chance to share their... pictures.
>>20705 Does staff realise how disgusting it is to use shota in place of yaoi to mean homosexuality, but not loli (instead, actually saying yuri)? Did it not cross the janny's repulsive brain that this indirectly excuses straight paedophilia? It goes without saying they were aware spreading the stereotypes that gay and pedo are the same thing, gross as this janny is.
>>22620 Why would "staff" know all the details of Japanese manga porn and all the Japanese names for it? >Did it not cross the janny's repulsive brain that this indirectly excuses straight paedophilia? I I never even bothered to look up the meaning of those words. Why would Janny? Janny can't blame him for OP's post! He locked it and promised to delete it, then many bored (sic) members threatened to take their porn elsewhere. Which showed how many people are just trolling /christian/ and aren't the least bit Christian. I would point that all manga where the characters have animal characteristics are shinto; that is, pagan.
>>22469 >>22630 >2023 >not respecting personal freedoms and human rights You are no different than the mohammadeans tbh
>>22636 The freedom to go to Hell, is no freedom at all.
>>20705 all anime is degenerate, it's jap cartoons and the japs are worldly renowned for their perversions and kinks you could post literally any anime and I could find something (more likely many things in every episode) in it that would not please God, but I won't do that because it would mean watching this retarded faggot shit you losers watch. Seriously, go to any random anime streaming site, just click through all of the recent uploads, how can any normal straight man watch that faggotry? There's a reason 4kike's /a/ is full of fags and trannies. It's like that soyboy gape face when they get their pics taken, I can't even make the same face in mockery of them it's so effeminate and gay, just like I can't see how you losers watch this gay tranime faggotry
>>22639 Surely western media is any better
>>22645 No one said it was, you dishonest rat kike
>>22647 But you guys never talk about the bad things in western media, while seeing any reference to anime gives you a "degenreate this, trannies that, etc" knee jerk
>>22649 >you guys never talk about the bad things in western media, What western media? Western Media is all run by Jews. Last movie made by someone from the Western Media was "Passion of the Christ"
>>22639 Damn... I didn't know God hated Trigun and Pokemon and that they were degenerate and making me gay. Also how do you "MAKE someone gay"? You can't force them, you can only influence and manipulate them. It's their choice to be a faggot.
>>22653 whether it is good or evil is irrelevant. It would be nice to stick to the subject of Christianity. There are those who troll the board with pornography.

what about hokuto no ken?
>wholesome anime >90% of characters amount to a single character praying or exhibiting virtues interpreted as Christian by the shills >"Talk about WHOLESOME shows and WHOLESOME cute waifus" while discussing the inherently degenerate concept of waifuism and posting a show with a child "nun" getting disrobed in the first episode to appeal to porn addled degenerates If watching anime is a constant in your life, the fact that your faith is compromised is almost certain. >so you mean we should watch Wester- Stop being braindead and fighting with strawmen.
Reminder that even "spiritual" movies like "Ben Hur" are wicked Jewish propaganda. Pontius Pilate found no fault in Christ, and had to sacrifice Christ because of the threat that Jewish lies would start a war in Judea resulting in many dead on both sides, and the Jewish lies to the emperor would get Pilate killed as well. Pilate had no choice, as Christ pointed out. The movie Ben Hur put all the sin and wickedness on the Romans and made the Jews the victims; pure propaganda and a Jewish lie. I don't view this manga stuff. The Japanese, God bless them, seem to have a strange idea of Christianity.
>>22769 >>wholesome anime >>90% of characters (probably meant to say "anime"/"shows" here?) amount to a single character praying or exhibiting virtues interpreted as Christian by the shills That's clearly a hyperbole, but even then, that's still a gorillion times more Christian than whatever shit is on Netflix >>"Talk about WHOLESOME shows and WHOLESOME cute waifus" while discussing the inherently degenerate concept of waifuism "Waifu" doesn't necessarily have to imply loving a fictional character like a real human like a schizo. It can just mean a female character that you like as a character, nothing more. >and posting a show with a child "nun" getting disrobed in the first episode to appeal to porn addled degenerates Nowhere OP said that that particular anime is wholesome, the picture might've probably been used because that particular picture was cute and wholesome. Not to mention that you might be misinterpreting or decontextualizing the scene you mentioned. >>so you mean we should watch Wester- >Stop being braindead and fighting with strawmen. What other options are there? Only reading/watching very old media and the Bible... I mean Mein Kampf, since Christianity is ""jewish""... and nothing more?

>>21137 I'm not the original poster, but... I can find multiple sources referencing it. I don't think that this is the most heavily publicized part of the authors person. Wikipedia lists his page in the categories of "Converts to Christianity" and "Japanese Christians" (at the bottom of the page), and I've found a page referencing him being christian (in the "Comments" section). Both are posted below https://archive.is/iu0LF https://archive.is/iCOFg If you need more proof than that, then I don't know what to give you except for a description of Trigun itself. Vash the Stampede, the main protagonist, actively chooses to avoid resorting to violence whenever possible, and one of the other protagonists is literally a priest. It's not a bad show.
https://archive.is/iCOFg#selection-593.0-593.231 Before the release of the popular manga, Trigun, Nightow studied Roman Catholicism, and converted, while retaining many Buddhist principles. Yasuhiro reportedly enjoys toy collecting, nori (in all its forms), and abhors avocados. Interesting. Father told me I needed to toss this little buddha I got because it reminded me of the one my Brother brought back from Japan. But my brother became a Methodist, and I have no idea if they allow such things.
>>22630 >all manga where the characters have animal characteristics are shinto; Not according to the fathers of the Church. Read "Do the dog headed men have souls?"
>>23048 So anthro characters have no souls unless they wear clothes that cover their groin?
>>23048 >Do the dog headed men have souls? Where are the real dog headed men? There are none. The position of the Catholic Church is that all animals have souls, just not immortal ones. They also believe that one should purge all pagan beliefs when you become Catholic. You can't mix Catholicism with pagan religions. The Japanese mixed Shinto with Buddhism so mixing in some Catholicism is natural for them
It is kinda ironic... this "Christian anime" fandom. At best, It's authored by a Japanese Catholic who mixes it with Buddhist paganism. The same fans of this Manga reject Catholicism and they often say it's because of all the paganism. Mostly they want a cartoon girlfriend.

Haibane Renmei is great. I recommend everyone to watch it
>>20705 I figured I would leave my 2 cents on this topics, reading stories and and the such today can be hard, especially when all the grey morality trends going on today with story telling whether from the east or the west, my recommendation for reading would be finding those stories that uphold good and show the consequences of or reject evil, or even tales about the human experience in a hopeful light. As always pray that God gives you wisdom in your choice of book or anime or whatever medium of storytelling you choose to go down. My recommendation would be Ashita No Joe, this one falls more down the human experience in a hopeful light category. It's a personal favorite of mine since I relate to Joe Yabuki a lot especially in his growth as a person, hopefully some of you may find it a nice read or watch
>>23485 >HuffPo Hates This! >>CLICK HERE<< to find out how! Sounds amazing Anon, thanks. I'll be sure to read it if I can.

There has only ever been one good Christian anime. The new episodes don't count, they are incredibly uncanny and having a budget larger than bits of string and an Arby's gift card has ruined it.
>>23653 Nice. It was definitely a youthful favorite, and helped inspire me to learn 3D animation.

>main character benefits from miracle and immediately becomes theist >recognizes value of preserving purity for girl he loves and rejects premartial sex with loose woman >huge emphasis on second chances and redemption Does Gundam X count?
>>23661 wow never thought Gundam X would make it in here, not a bad choice considering it's hopeful storytelling
>>23661 I really enjoyed Gundam X, ended up being pretty wholesome and fun. I will say the part in which he pulls the gun on Enil was pretty great, really drew me into the series
>>23663 The >Tiffa! I believe in God! isn't a pure one off line either
>>20705 >WHOLESOME cute waifus lol If you idolize cartoon characters its not wholesome. Also I'm not Christian but I don't think you're supposed to obsess over cartoons this way in the first place especially not ones by idolatrous heathens like the Japanese. At least Islam is internally consistent in that idolatry and adultery are forbidden in all forms, not just the ones you don't personally indulge in.
>>23826 >At least Islam is internally consistent in that idolatry and adultery are forbidden in all forms, not just the ones you don't personally indulge in.
>>23823 for such a crazy series full of so many new ideas, X did a really good job of fleshing out alot of its characters in response to the world around them. Made it feel really real and there was a big juxtaposition between the younger and older characters as a result.
>>23826 dude they fuck goats. Also you do not understand the charm of these things. In a world so devoid of beauty, art is the only place to turn often, and all beauty is linked back to God. Stop pseudposting all over the place. One day I may meet a non-Christian who isnt a total larping idiot, but that day is not today

Any shows/movies without killing or romance?
>>24756 Not really, drive maybe? But I think that had some violence and love interest
>>24756 if you like anime than trigun is a good one, there isnt really any romance in it and the main character is a pacifist. There's violence and one death i believe but thats it. Its also a very Christian show
>>24756 >Any shows/movies without any kind of conflict? Where does this dull=good mentality come from? Is it just an American thing? Go read the Bible. It's full of romance and killing, especially the Old Testament. And that's what makes it so based.
